Turnigy electronic speed controllers
Turnigy offers RC batteries, chargers, electric motors, ESCs, tools for RC vehicles, airplanes, boats, drones, and much more. This repository contains specifications on the Turnigy ESCs.
General information and terminology
Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) converts the PWM signal from the flight controller or radio receiver and drives the brushless motor by providing the appropriate level of electrical power.
Battery Elimination Circuit (BEC) converts the main LiPo battery pack voltage to a lower voltage (e.g. 2S 7.4V, 3S 11.1V or 4S 14.8V to 5V).
Motor timing is a setting on the ESC, it’s very important to motor efficiency, reliably, torque and RPM for multirotors. In some ESC’s there is an “auto-timing” (or adaptive timing) setting, which detects and decides for you what motor timing to use. While in BLHeli, the user has to choose a motor timing (default is medium).
The microcontroller plays three key roles in the ESC’s operation:
- housing the firmware that interprets the signal from the controller and feeds it in a control loop;
- keeping track of the motor’s position in order to ensure smooth acceleration;
- sending pulses to the gate driver to achieve the desired command.

MultiStar BLheli_32 ARM 32bit ESCs Race Spec
Turnigy MultiStar BLheli_32 ARM ESCs are super simple to install and very easy to setup. Turnigy MultiStar BLheli_32 ARM ESCs feature proprietary firmware and deliver a smooth linear throttle response without sacrificing a rapid, crisp response to any throttle inputs.

- Regenerative braking;
- Active freewheeling;
- Beacon functionality;
- Stalled motor protection;
- Throttle signal loss protection;
